Prepare your SoYouStart Linux server

Preparing your SoYouStart (game-)server takes approximately 15 minutes, including the install time for Linux (Debian 10.9).

This guide is for Linux only.

Login to your SoYouStart admin panel. Based on your server's region, you need to use a different login URL:

Note: Your credentials only work in 1 region. If you're getting errors about invalid login credentials, make sure you are trying to login in the right region!

If, for whatever reason, you made a mistake during the installation, worry not. You can repeat these steps when something went wrong.

1. Login on SoYouStart

Proceed to the login form, by clicking the "Log in" button.

2. Install server

3. Select "Debian 10"

4. Confirm settings

5. Waiting for installation to finish

Your SoYouStart (game-)server will now start the installation process. Please be patient, it can take 10 - 20 minutes.

WARNING
If you make any changes (re-installing, changing password etc) to your SoYouStart machine after this point, you might cause issues with the connection between your machine & GameServerApp and result in dataloss. Reach out to GSA Support if you have questions.
